It's amazing how natural processes of the earth give us metaphors for life.

I was in a redwoods forest and learned about how a large tree basically dies but in dying, it provides nutrients for many other trees around it to grow.

The trunk of the original tree decomposes from the inside and it's once grand presence is diminished to literally a hollow shell of what it once was. But, numerous other trees are given life. There is beauty, purpose and regeneration in this death.
