nope, still can't control the rain

Again I've realized that so much of life is beyond my control. I was supposed to be picking kiwi fruit right now and making some money. Instead, I'm sitting in the lodge I'm staying at and waiting.

No picking can happen when it rains and unbeknownst to me before I arrived here, it's supposed to rain for a while. How frustrating! I only have two weeks to work here before I have to move on and was planning to blitz it and earn a good chunk of money. Instead, I'm sitting in the lodge writing this blog post.

Haven't we all been there? When we make wonderful plans and then something else out of our control happens to ruin what we had envisioned?

After going for a rainy walk to clear my head, I realized a few things:

1/ Nope, I still can't control the rain.

2/ Who am I to think that I'm entitled to work?

3/ So much of life is in the reactions we have and the attitudes we choose. My reaction and attitude had been crappy.

4/ I have much to be thankful for and I have options which, again, is something to be grateful for.

I still hope the weather clears but won't be devastated if it doesn't.
